William Davenport
2011 Performer
Music began for this independent musician in the church choir. That black chorded microphone with a red sponge cover burned a hole into the depths of his soul. He joined a boy band, Immense, and showcased for the likes of R.Kelly and Excel records. William immediately began writing music and lyrics while in the band. William next left Atlanta to study Engineering at Tennessee State University. While in college, William picked up playing guitar, won numerous talent shows, won Embassy Records national talent search, and won oppotunity to be a singer/songwriter for Neyo's label, Compound Entertainment. After a summer with the label, Will returned to school and was fortuned to open for Laura Izibor, India.Arie and Raheem DeVaughn. He plays piano, guitar, organ and also acts. William co-stars in Alvin Moore's BET special play along side Johnny Gill, Robin Givens and Shirley Murdock as of February 2009 called 'A Mother's Prayer'. William strives to share his gift with everyone on a universal scale but currently does so in the Nashville city limits. Whether it be a two minute solo or a two second solo, give it to William, and he will definitely sing the metal off of the mic.
