As Senior Pastor of St. James United Methodist Church since 2006, Reverend McQueen leads one of the fastest growing church congregations in Alpharetta. In the last decade alone, St. James United Methodist Church has grown from approximately 100 members to over 2000 members. The church currently has more than 30 ministries that emancipate the oppressed, equip the masses and exalt Jesus Christ. The church has two worship services, two corporate Bible studies, and weekly concentrated areas of study for men, women, youth, children, seniors, singles and married couples.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Reverend McQueen is a graduate of Drexel University. He earned a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees, with honors, from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC). He is currently on staff at the ITC as an adjunct professor in the area of Christian Education.
An unprecedented teacher and trainer, Reverend McQueen’s credits include the development of the St. James Training Institute, a training center for the Body of Christ. He initiated Ministers in Training, a program designed to train aspiring seminary students who have acknowledged their call to Christian ministry. Reverend McQueen traveled to Zimbabwe, South Africa to train their local clergy regarding church and family concerns. He led an advance missionary team to Kenya to assist in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Reverend McQueen has routinely facilitated Bible Study and lay and clergy workshops and regularly provides workshop leadership at various marriage conferences.
A firm believer in community involvement, Reverend McQueen serves on various boards to include the Simpsonwood Board, the Youth Hope Builders Academy, the United Methodist Children’s Home board, Stewardship, Faith Journey, the Franklin Graham Festival Regional Pastors Team and the District Board of Ordained Ministry.
Reverend McQueen is a very devoted husband to his wife, Wanda and is the proud father of two sons, Michael II and Malik.
